Ah, Paris!

Truly a dream vacation destination. With so much culture and history, who hasn’t envisioned spending a season away and finding romance in Paris?

Strolling through the streets at night, the Eiffel Tower twinkling in the night sky, the sounds from the Seine. Are you drifting off into a daydream yet?

One thing I love about Europe is how easy it is to get from one country to another. We started our travels in Germany, visiting Lukas’ family, but we knew we wanted to spend a few days exploring another country. So, we hopped on a train and 4 hours later we were in Paris, the City of Love! Also, known as the City of Light.

Where to Stay

Our hotel, Hotel De Jobo, was nestled between buildings on a side street. This was perfect for us as it was cozy and quiet. When thinking about places to stay, we take cost and cleanliness into consideration the most. We know when we travel, we aren’t going to spend a lot of time in the hotel, so we don’t really concern ourselves with amenities. It was a beautiful, bold hotel with a small courtyard at the entrance. Price was fair and it was close to shops and public transportation.

Where to Eat

Anywhere. I mean that. Literally stop anywhere. We are big foodies when it comes to traveling, but we didn’t have any kind of plan when it came to where to eat in Paris, so we roamed the streets and stopped when we were hungry. There was not a single place we tried that wasn’t out of this world delicious! Every bakery? Heaven. Every restaurant? Delectable. You cannot go wrong!

What to Do

Eiffel Tower

A beauty that speaks for itself.

The Eiffel Tower was opened in 1889 and was originally meant to be a temporary structure. Highly recommend talking the tour and walked up the tower! Seeing Paris from that perspective was incredible and don’t worry, you get to take the elevator down!

Make sure you don’t miss out on it twinkling at night! ✨

Louvre Museum

Go. In. The. Museum. The glass pyramid is an iconic landmark, but it’s a must to go inside. There are so many amazing exhibits.

I know what question you’re thinking of and yes, the Mona Lisa is worth it. Yes, it’s small. But you’re literally staring at a piece of history. Yes, the line is long but you get to see other incredible works of art while you wait.

Seine River

Our first day there, we walked along the river and just took it all in. It was so peaceful, we could’ve stayed there all day. There are boat tours and restaurants on the water to try, as well.

Arc de Triomphe

Architect Jean-François Chalgrin was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus in a single arch. If you elect to take a tour and climb up the arc, you get a seriously epic view of Paris.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris

Notre-Dame was a vision even with the construction. We went after it unfortunately burned, but it’s beauty remained.

Bonus: Palace of Versailles

The day we decided to venture there it was POURING! We only got to tour the gardens for 10 minutes and never got a chance to go inside. There were so many things we didn’t get the chance to see. Three days just simply isn’t enough.

You might be asking, “Hold up, you didn’t go sneaker shopping in Paris?!”

Oh. Yes. Yes, we did. But that’s a blog for another day. Sign up for the newsletter so you know when it drops!
